New route revealed for Townsville’s NTI 500 transporter parade

2022 Supercars Transporter parade welcomed in Townsville

Traditionally attracting thousands of onlookers along Townsville’s streets, the NTI Transporter Parade will travel along a new route in 2023.

Beginning at noon on Wednesday, July 5, the parade will kickstart celebrations before three days of racing action begins on Friday for the NTI Townsville 500.

The parade will see 25 Repco Supercars Championship Mustangs and Camaros transporters, carrying more than $25m worth of Supercars equipment commence their journey at the corner of Ingham Drv and Webb Rd, Bohle.

From there, the parade will turn left from Webb Drive onto Ingham Road, followed by a left turn onto Percy Street.

As the parade continues along Bundock Street, fans will be able to cheer for their favourite teams at various popular intersections, including Howitt Street, Warburton Street, Eyre Street, and crossing the iconic George Roberts Bridge.

The procession will make its way onto Saunders Street, passing by Cowboys’ Stadium and onto the Reid Park circuit precinct, completing at pit lane at around 1pm.

In addition to the transporter parade, a dedicated Fan Zone will be established at the Townsville sign in Central Park, near Palmer St.

Following on from the parade, Townsville City Council will host Superfest on Flinders Street East on Thursday evening from 4pm – 6pm.

The free event will feature cars on display, Supercars SuperKids Zone, The Hot Wheels team, live music, roving entertainment and kids’ activities.

Free Supercars posters will be available for collecting signatures from the full lineup of Supercars Drivers at an all-in Signing Session.
