Public playgrounds, outdoor gyms, skateparks and dog parks in Townsville will soon be a no go.

Townsville City Council will close the facilities from midnight due to new restrictions imposed by the Federal Government to minimise COVID-19 from spreading.

On Sunday the National Cabinet had revised its 10-person limit on public gatherings to a new limit of two people with the exception of households. People aged 70 or older have been advised to stay indoors unless going out for exercise or fresh air.
