Morris Group hiring for key jobs at The Ville Townsville, Ardo luxury hotel

Time is running out to apply for more than 100 exciting jobs with Townsville’s leading high-end tourism operator.

Morris Group is currently advertising dozens of vacancies for positions at The Ville Resort-Casino, the Townsville Entertainment and Convention Centre and the city’s first luxury hotel.

“Don’t just live here … work here too,” publicity material reads, “more than 100 career opportunities are available across our hospitality, culinary and events precinct, including the soon-to-be-opened luxury hotel Ardo.”

The jobs, applications for which close between Tuesday, October 31, and November 25, cover a broad range of nine areas, from reservation revenue managers and electronic gaming attendants to experienced casino dealers and VIP concierge hosts.

Morris Group has half a dozen different food and beverage roles available alone, including food and beverage attendants, bartenders, mixologists, baristas and waiters.

Housekeeping jobs, which do not require previous job-related experience although it is preferred, include room attendants, laundry attendants and cleaners.

North Queensland’s premier destination for dining, events and entertainment is also seeking qualified lifeguards for its “sun-soaked deck and swim-up Splash Bar”.

In addition to competitive wages and benefits, advertised jobs offer “permanent career opportunities with pathways into leadership and management levels and between sister properties around Australia”.

To deal with the expected influx of new staff, Morris Group, which also operates Orpheus Island Lodge, Pelorus Private Island and the Daintree Village Hotel, has purchased another hotel just for accommodation purposes.

The Ville Resort-Casino and Ardo CEO Michael Jones said there were multiple career opportunities available in food and beverage, culinary, hotel and housekeeping at all its exclusive properties.

“We’ve been fortunate to receive a strong amount of interest in Ardo’s career opportunities and have hired talented staff who will be instrumental in bringing this new luxury hotel to life,” he said on Monday.

“Ardo presents a unique opportunity to be part of the team to open a new luxury hotel in one of North Queensland’s most breathtaking locations.”

The luxury hotel will open before the end of the year and include 132 rooms and suites, three restaurants, a rooftop infinity pool and day spa.
