A man who fled Queensland six years ago after threatening another man with a gun was finally arrested by police in September.
Michael Allan Stevenson, 32, was tailgating a Ford Falcon when the owner stopped the car on May 14, 2014.
Townsville Magistrates Court heard the driver of the Falcon got out of the car and asked Stevenson, ‘What’s your f--king caper, you w-nker?’.
Police prosecutor Subarna Raut said Stevenson pulled out a stolen .22 revolver from his car.
“The defendant has then reached down and picked up a semiautomatic pistol,” he said.
“He has then pointed the pistol directly at the driver of the Falcon for five seconds before the driver of the Falcon managed to drive away.”

Mr Raut said Stevenson fled Queensland after the 2014 incident and remained at large until September 11 this year.
The court heard while on the run, Stevenson racked up further criminal charges in Western Australia and the Northern Territory. He pleaded guilty to seven charges, including unlawful possession of weapons, using headlights on high beam travelling behind vehicle and not keeping a safe distance.
Solicitor Tracy Brown said her client had become a father on September 29 to a baby boy and wanted to become a “law-abiding citizen upon his release” from jail.
“His partner has been a major influence in his life with his new attitude,” she said. “He now realises the gravity of not having these matters dealt with in 2014.”
Magistrate Ken Taylor told Stevenson, “the consequences of the offending are quite serious in any event”.
After declaring the 67 days spent in pre-sentence custody as time already served, Mr Taylor sentenced Stevenson to 18 months’ jail.
A parole release date was set at March 11, 2022.
Mr Taylor made an order for the .22 revolver to be returned to its owner.
