A Townsville band that started out “jamming” underneath a house are to launch their first extended play.
Reuben Lomas, Marcello Macdonald, Halley Kelly, and Mitchell McKee make up the group Marrow Lane, formed in April 2018.
They will perform all of their songs in Time in Motion next Friday.
McKee who wrote the lyrics of the songs, said it took 2019 to record and master the music in post-production.
“We’re all extremely proud to finally have something 100 per cent completed,” he said. “With these six songs (in the EP) the common theme was time and understanding where you are in the universe.
“We bled our souls into it.”
Marrow Lane’s popularity shot up after the group’s first music video for the track Breakdown was widely shared. “We have three genres that we play including indie, reggae, and rock n roll … the song was reflective of how I was feeling at the time,” McKee said.
McKee said he hoped the group would go to the “very top”. Marrow Lane will perform at the otherwise bar at Flinders St on Friday 24.
