Pimlico wounding: Man stabbed in stomach on Palmerston St

A man was rushed to the hospital after being stabbed in the stomach overnight. See why police believe there will be ‘no complaint forthcoming’.

A man in his 20s was allegedly stabbed in the stomach in a ‘street disturbance’ in Pimlico on Monday night.

The incident happened about 8pm on Palmerston St, however police said no complaint had been made.

In a statement on Monday night, a police spokesman said police were called to reports of a street disturbance between two men known to each other.

“Upon arrival, a man in his twenties was located with a stab wound to his stomach and was transported to hospital.”

Police continue to investigate.

On Tuesday morning, Townsville district duty officer Acting Senior Sergeant Anthony Kirkham confirmed no complaint had yet been made to police.

“I’m hearing the wounding was only minor,” Acting Snr Sgt Kirkham said.

“There’s going to be no complaint forthcoming from what I’ve heard.”
