A KIRWAN woman is hoping to spread some cheer to Townsville kids this Christmas.

It has been a dream of Tiphanie Clarke’s since she was a little girl to receive a letter from Santa Claus.

So this Christmas she is hoping she can make her fantasy a reality for Townsville kids.

Ms Clarke, 20, has placed a ‘North Pole’ letterbox outside her Kirwan home encouraging kids to write and post a letter to Santa’s workshop.

“The letterbox has been up for a week and I am really hoping people will start dropping off letters,” she said.

“I have shiny paper and I have written down a few copies of letters I can use for different kids.”

Ms Clarke said she couldn’t wait to see what kids ask Santa for this Christmas.

“As a kid I used to write letters to Santa and it was so cool imagining Santa replying and that is something that has helped me organise this,” she said.

“Everyone knows that 2020 has been quite rough and I want to provide some Christmas cheer to lift everyone’s spirits.”

Family members have spent the last fortnight adorning their home with Christmas decorations including solar powered and electrical lights, inflatable characters and a North Pole workshop.

Ms Clarke said it was the third year in a row the family had decorated their house.

“If you can do things as a family during this time of year, it is so much more fun,” she said.

“If there is enough response and people are willing to drop off letters, I will definitely put the letterbox out again next year.”

Kids can post their letter to Santa at 5 Reid Court, Kirwan.
