A person has been freed from a vehicle and rushed to hospital after a two-vehicle crash on a Townsville section of the Flinders Hwy.

QFES said their fire crews needed to ‘extricate’ (free) a person from the wreckage at the intersection of Stuart Dr and Mount Stuart Rd.

Queensland Ambulance said they have transported one person to hospital and paramedic crews still remain on scene assessing more victims.

The Flinders Hwy (Stuart Dr) is currently blocked, with police installing a roadblock at Southwood Rd.

Queensland Police said they were called to the scene of the two-vehicle crash around 6pm.
