Greenvale vehicle accident: Woman dies near Valley of Lagoons

A woman has died in tragic circumstances in a vehicle crash on a rural property north of Townsville, with forensic officers now investigating.

A woman has died in tragic circumstances in a single-vehicle accident on an isolated rural property in Greenvale, west of Ingham, Queensland Police Service has confirmed.

A QPS spokeswoman said the woman, in her 20s, had died after the vehicle she was driving was discovered on Lincoln Springs Road near Valley of Lagoons at 7.32am on Tuesday.

The small rural community where the accident occurred is understood to have been badly affected by the untimely passing.

A QPS spokeswoman said the ongoing operation was being hampered by poor communication due to the remoteness of the accident location.

She confirmed that the woman had been declared deceased and that the death may have occurred for a period of time before the vehicle was discovered.

QPS Forensic Crash Unit are investigating and a report would be prepared for the coroner, she said.
