A TOWNSVILLE bridal lounge is taking the edge off finding the perfect wedding dress for curvy brides preparing to walk down the aisle.
Bride-to-be Samara Gregory has spent the last 10 months dreading the thought of going shopping for her bridal gown.
Ms Gregory said she felt afraid she would not find a dress that would fit her curvy size 20 body shape.
“I hadn’t really started looking mainly because I don’t really have the confidence to go out there because I am a bigger size,” she said.
“So I was holding it off for as long as I could.”
The 28 year old’s fears have been put to rest after visiting Alex Jurgens from Blushous Beauty and Bridal Lounge who recently received a delivery of curvy designer bridal dresses.
She said helping brides from size 4 to size 28 find their dream dress felt “fabulous”.
“Seeing a curvy bride is more the norm these days and I never use the term plus size, I say curve bridal,” she said.
“Brides shouldn’t be afraid to shop for a wedding dress because they have a booty or boobs and I want all girls to feel comfortable in their own skin on their special day.”
Ms Gregory has yet to settle on her dream dress to wear at her July 2022 ceremony but said her first fitting had made her feel “beautiful”.
“I learnt not to be hard on myself because no matter what, there is a dress out there for everyone no matter your size,” she said.
“This is exactly what Townsville girls needs because I feel like a lot of girls are stuck for sizes or go down south to find their dress.”
