The woman involved in a sex scheme that saw a man stabbed and robbed at a shopping centre has been sentenced two months after her accomplice.

Ashleigh Jayde Gyorosi appeared in Townsville District on Friday morning after she advertised sex services online and organised to meet up with a man and then rob him in January last year.

Her co-offender, Rodney William Forno was sentenced in April to four and a half years jail and given a parole eligibility date of May 22 as 324 days of pre-sentence custody was declared as time already served.

The 33-year-old woman had her sentence adjourned to finalise documents.

Her defence barrister Jessica Hine submitted a doctor’s report that outlined past trauma the woman experienced and that she showed signs of PTSD and a reliance on methamphetamine.

Judge Gregory Lynham said he remembered the first sentence well due to how “bizarre” it was, and acknowledged that Gyorosi never intended to provide sexual services once at the ATM at North Ward shopping centre.

He said the victim grew suspicious and when he tried to back out was when Forno became involved and resulted in the man being stabbed.

The court was told since her release Gyorosi had stayed off drugs and was able to hold down employment.

“I’m sure I’m going to be told she’s stayed off the gear,” His Honour said.

“But the reality is, if she relapses and uses drugs again not only will she be in breach of a parole order but return to custody.

“Does the court give up on her?”

Crown prosecutor Ashley Gaden said that the fact the woman had refrained from coming to the attention of police and being able to stay off drugs for six months was “promising”.

The woman pleaded guilty to armed robbery in company with violence.

She was sentenced to three years jail and given an immediate parole release date. His Honour did not declare the 333 days she spent in custody as time served.
