This week we uncover some of the top players to watch from the under-13s male division.
The list is in no particular order and all players were highlighted by their specific club or head coach.
TOWNSVILLE AUSSIE RULES TOP U13 MALE PLAYERS TO WATCH
Taylor Mitchell (Hermit Park Tigers)
Just a player that has plenty of x-factor.
For a young lad, he can do some uncanny things as his moves on the footy field is like watching a young Brendan Fevola.
Harry Ferrier (Hermit Park Tigers)
Ferrier, or a young Eddie Betts, knows where the goals are and has the flair to match.
His skill in the forward line definitely makes him one to watch this season.
Jasper Rose (Hermit Park Tigers)
‘Scooter boy’ is solid in defence, plays with heart and always trying his best.
He controls the back line just like a young Jacob Weitering.
Ashton Catalano (Hermit Park Tigers)
Catalano is one of his side’s most consistent young players, and not only is he consistent, but a very good utility for the Tigers.
The rising junior can play back, mid and even forward as he is always wanting to better himself and the team.
Very Consistent like Tom De Koning.
Otis Toomey and Lachlan Taylor (Hermit Park Tigers)
The Tigers side is built up of many players that step up and contribute every week but two players are always there when their team needs them.
Otis Toomey and Lachlan Taylor create plenty of opportunities through the midfield and off the backline.
They play like Adam Cerra and Zac Williams, through the centre and off the backline.
Mason Best (Hermit Park Tigers)
Young Mason Best has arrived to the club this year and has already made a good impression.
His coaches and teammates are looking forward to seeing what he can bring to their side as he’s earnt a comparison to Carlton captain Patrick Cripps.
Tyler Prince (Thuringowa Bulldogs)
Having played over 50 games now this pocket rocket is an absolute excitement machine and definitely one to watch.
Prince plays across half forward as he has speed to burn, a great run down tackle and loves to take a speccy when the opportunity arises.
Angelo Basile (Thuringowa Bulldogs)
Basile is new to Townsville from the Burleigh Bombers but he won’t fly under the radar for too long.
He covers the ground well with awesome skills and great hands and is sure to do plenty of damage in the middle.
Is also capable of hitting the scoreboard to rip apart games.
Max Nathan (Northern Beaches Suns)
Nathan is tall, athletic and possesses a great turn of speed.
His skill and game sense continues to improve as he adds plenty of x-factor to his side.
Zac Tolhurst (Northern Beaches Suns)
Tolhurst can run all day and is a great user of the footy.
After a solid pre-season the key midfielder is fit and firing with many excited to see what he can achieve in 2025.
Nate Poole (Curra Swans)
Poole is a physically dominating junior with strength to spare.
He is an outstanding passer by foot and hand who reads the high ball well and can bust a pack open with his size and aggression.
Ryder Waugh (Curra Swans)
Waugh has an elite level kick and often flies under the radar in games.
Before his opponent realises, the key Curra junior has racked up multiple disposals and goals or goal scoring involvements.
Keep your eye on him this year as he will dominate forward and back.
Eli Wyke (Curra Swans)
The Queensland junior representative displays great leadership on the field and physically dominates his opposition in all aspects of the game.
Wyke can blow games wide open within minutes thanks to his distance kicking, laser like passing by foot and his scoring ability.
Kelby Daniels (Curra Swans)
A soccer convert who played his first season of Aussie rules in 2024, Daniels brings pure speed to his side that is simply unmatched in this competition.
His dominance in chase-down tackles and pure foot speed will be a factor in all contested possession football.
Archie McKenzie (Curra Swans)
McKenzie is a key cog for the Swans.
His attack on the football is unquestionable and a great example to all his teammates.
He is an in-and-under player that will take on all opponents and usually comes off best.
A prolific possession getter that leads by example.
Monty McLean, Barney McInerney and Lars Wightman (Curra Swans)
All three are bottom age players that are ones to watch this season.
McLean and McInerney are both speedsters with good foot skills while Wightman will look to dominate contests with his size and strength.
Unfortunately the Garbutt Bombers did not respond prior to the time of publishing.
