THREE young men have had a lucky escape after a car crashed into a tree and burst into flames in Elanora Heights early today.
The driver is alleged to have failed a breath-test at the scene and was taken away for further tests, just after 5am.
The Hyundai was driving along Wilga Street when it left the road and hit a pine tree.
The men inside escaped moments before the car caught alight.
One person was treated at the scene by paramedics, but no one was seriously injured.
Police are also investigating how a Holden Commodore collided with a parked car in Katoomba overnight.
About 9.45pm emergency services were called to Bathurst Road.
It’s alleged a 20-year-old unlicensed driver crashed his car into a parked vehicle, pushing it into a telegraph pole and garage door.
His car then collided with a second parked car.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory testing.
