Not guilty plea to grievous bodily harm and expected trial after Hobart man’s death
Last month, a 63-year-old died after he was allegedly pushed to the ground in a serious assault in central Hobart. Another man is now due to stand trial over grievous bodily harm.

A man is expected to stand trial after allegedly causing grievous bodily harm to another man in central Hobart last month.
Peter John Walsh, 63, died on March 6, three days after an alleged assault in Warwick Street on March 3.
Dean Byron Palmer, 57, appeared in the Hobart Magistrates Court on Monday and entered a plea of not guilty to a singular count of causing grievous bodily harm.
According to court documents, it is alleged this occurred by Mr Palmer pushing Mr Walsh to the ground.
Mr Palmer has not been charged with causing Mr Walsh’s death, and will appear in the Supreme Court of Tasmania on June 4.
At the time, Tasmania Police Mr Walsh was taken to the Royal Hobart Hospital after the alleged assault, but died a few days later.
