Man, 31, charged by police over child sex abuse allegations extradited to Tasmania

Queensland police assisted Tasmanian officers to find a man who is facing charges in relation to alleged sexual abuse of a child. The details.

A 31-year-old man wanted by Tasmanian police in relation to sexual abuse of a child has been arrested and charged in Queensland.

Two detectives from Kingston CIB travelled to the Gold Coast on Wednesday after locating the man they had been chasing for 12 months.

Queensland police helped arrest the man.

He appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court on Thursday where an order was made for his return to Tasmania.

The Kingston detectives escorted the man to Tasmania on Friday and say he will appear in an out of hours court session this weekend.
