Dark Mofo will bounce back from a reduced festival this year to deliver a full return for 2025.
Organisers announced on Friday morning, the ambitious art and music program would run alongside Dark Mofo rituals Winter Feast, the Ogoh-Ogoh, Night Mass and the Nude Solstice Swim.
The dates have been locked in from June 5 to 15, with the popular swim baring all on Saturday, June 21.
Dark Mofo artistic director Chris Twite said there would be a limited pre-release of tickets to the sprawling behemoth Night Mass.
“For our eleventh chapter once more we’ll bathe the city in red and deliver two weeks of inspiring art, music and ritual,” Mr Twite said.
“Night Mass is a beast, and this year it will evolve once more; worming its way through the city with new spaces, performances and experiences to dance, explore or crawl your way through.”
The Mona project is being financially supported by the Tasmanian Government’s Events Tasmania with $21.6m in funding.
Events Minister Nick Duigan said it provided a strong return on investment by boosting the tourism and hospitality sectors in the quieter winter months.
This year, a reduced program served up the Winter Feast, Nude Solstice Swim and some fringe events.
Mr Twite has previously said the different approach was to pause for a period of renewal.
