A survivor of the White Island volcano disaster says she wishes she could go back in time and make the most of the “precious time” she had with her family.
Almost one year after the tragedy that claimed the life of her dad and sister, Stephanie Browitt, 24, posted on Instagram saying “it’s been extremely hard and painful to look back at these knowing we had no idea what was to come”.
“1 year ago today on what we thought was just another night on our end of year family cruise we enjoy,” she wrote on Saturday.
Krystal Browitt perished in the disaster after the volcano erupted in New Zealand on December 9, 2019.
Paul Browitt died later in hospital from his injuries.
