WHAT TO DO IF YOU DON’T RECEIVE AN OFFER
How the university offer system works
After the course selection authorities have considered your application, they will advise VTAC whether they wish to offer you a place in the course. Then VTAC advises you via your VTAC user account of the highest offer on your preference list. In subsequent offer rounds, you will be considered for course preferences higher than the offers you have received. VTAC will again advise you of the highest offer made (if any).
University offer dates
They are 5 rounds of offers for domestic year 12 students. In the first round of offers all courses will participate. All other offer rounds are optional and will depend on the number of places available. Generally, over 80 per cent of offers are made in the first January offer rounds. Following that, supplementary offers begin and only course with vacancies will make offers.
Don’t panic if you haven’t received the offer you were hoping for. Here’s our guide on what to do if you don’t recieve an offer.
January offer round 1: 16th of January 2019 at 2pm
February offer round 1: 4th of February 2019 at 2pm
February offer round 2: 11th of February 2019 at 2pm
February offer round 3: 18th of February 2019 at 2pm

How to see university offers
After universities have considered your application, they will advise VTAC whether they wish to offer you a place in the course. Any offers you may receive will be offered via your VTAC account, of the highest offer on your preference list. Only one course will be offered.
Most course places are allocated in the first January offer round. In subsequent offer rounds, you will be considered for course preferences higher than any offer/s you have received in each round (if any). VTAC will again advise you of the highest offer made (if any).
How to accept your university offer
To accept your offer you must follow the enrolment instructions in your offer message. Most institutions will have information for enrolling on their websites. In some cases you may be required to attend enrolment in person on a specific date and time.
Any offer you receive is subject to you:
— Meeting eligibility requirements,
— Having provided full and correct information on your VTAC application, and
— Attending enrolment at the date and time specified in your offer message.
Otherwise, your offer may lapse or be withdrawn.
What to do if you don’t receive a first round offer
Don’t panic if you don’t receive an offer! If you don’t receive an offer there are two options available:
— Wait to see if you receive an offer in a subsequent offer round for your existing course preferences. You will be automatically reconsidered for all of your preferences in the next round.
— Change your preferences by adding, deleting or reordering your course preferences for the next offer round.
WHAT TO DO IF YOU DON’T RECEIVE AN OFFER
Changing preferences after round 1 offers
Applicants can change their preferences between offer rounds. The deadlines for each offer round be found on the VTAC website.
Even if you receive an offer for a course you can still change your preferences before the next round. Just make sure that you meet the prerequisites and have completed any selection requirements outlined in the course entry.
Accepting an offer will not stop you from being able to change your preferences for future rounds.
