A suspicious fire has ripped through portable classrooms at a school in Melbourne’s southeast this morning, with police now probing the cause of the blaze.

A suspicious fire has ripped through portable classrooms at a school in Melbourne’s southeast this morning, with police now probing the cause of the blaze.
The fire is believed to have started in a classroom at Brentwood Secondary College on Watson’s Rd, Glen Waverley about 3.30am.
The blaze caused major damage to two classrooms before fighters brought it under control within 17 minutes.

The school is expected to remain open today for students and teachers.
It is believed a smaller fire had been lit in the school’s playground earlier in the night but the exact cause is not yet known.
