Local tradesmen are seeing more job opportunities, now that a national developer has moved into town.
Villa World has taken the lead in the supply of employment opportunities in the growing Logan region with three major developments in Greenbank, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve.
The national developer has a portfolio of 2766 lots and will begin construction on 511 across its three communities at Greenbank, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve.
Due to the high volume of development, hundreds of local tradesmen have experienced an increase in job opportunities in the region.
A number of small businesses have been contracted to aid in the construction of land and homes at the Covella, Killara and Chambers Ridge communities.
Villa World’s development director for Queensland Peter Johnson said the company employed local tradies as much as possible.
“We have many local tradesmen working alongside us to build new homes on the lots and we pride ourselves in the economic impact we are able to create in the regions we develop in,” Mr Johnson said.
“These local job opportunities mean that small businesses are able to continue to run in the region, and local tradesmen are able to build their lives in Logan.”
“It’s an exciting time for the Logan community and we’re looking forward to being able to contribute to the ongoing employment opportunities in the region,” he said.
According to a 2017 Urbis report, employment is due to rise 30 per cent over the next 18 years and Logan will see an additional 50,000 jobs in the area.
