SA Speedway Riders Association president Ivan Golding said the collision occurred when a passenger fell off a bike and the bike behind “couldn’t miss him and hit him”, causing the other passenger to fall.

An SA Ambulance spokeswoman said three people were taken to the hospital, including two 55-year-old men.

She said one man had a dislocated knee and hip and the other facial bleeding and bruising.

The speedway hosted the 2024/25 South Australian Sidecar Championship on Saturday.

Last month a 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital after a motorcycle crash.

Late last year Troy Knights was killed after a crash on the racetrack.
