Schoolies Festival 2022 will have full capacity and no proof of vaccination

Thousands of schoolies have got the green-light to head back to Victor Harbor this year as Covid limits get the flick.

This year the Schoolies Festival is back at full capacity and no longer requiring proof of vaccination to attend.

Tickets for the Schoolies Festival 2022 went on sale on Tuesday at 11am.

“Schoolies Festival will be back at full capacity and patrons will no longer be required to provide proof of “up-to-date” Covid-19 vaccination.” said Encounter Youth chief executive officer, Nigel Knowles.

“The festival is absolutely back to normal. The major difference this year is the return of unrestricted dancing from our music bowl,”

The theme of this year’s Schoolies Festival is “celebrate your way”, and while the main stage and music will be provided, there will also be a variety of difference venues for all school leavers to celebrate.

“There will be a chill out area with more quiet music for a more relaxed atmosphere. We are catering for year 12’s interested in gaming with arcade games – some of them going back to the 80s,” Mr Knowles said.

In 2021 the festival allowed half it’s usual capacity of 7000, with conditional approval from SA Health. In 2020, the festival was cancelled altogether.

“Our staff, team and volunteers are planning an exciting celebration for the Class of 2022, and we are thrilled to support them to safely enjoy a well-earned celebration with their friends to mark this milestone,” Mr Knowles said.

The Schoolies Festival 2022 runs from November 25-27 and will be held on Warland Reserve in Victor Harbour.
