Following investigations, detectives from the Counter Terrorism and Security Section attended a southern suburbs home and arrested the 14-year-old girl on Thursday.

She was refused police bail and appeared in the Adelaide Youth Court on Friday, where she was granted bail to return to court mid-April.

In a statement, police said it was an offence to possess extremist material, which is considered to be any material that directly or indirectly encourages, glorifies, promotes or condones terrorist acts, or justifies the carrying out of terrorist acts.
