An Adelaide driver has died at the scene of a single car crash near Penola in the state’s South-East.
A driver has died at the scene of a single car crash in the state’s South-East after hitting Stobie pole on Friday afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to Mount Burr Rd at Monbulla, about 21km southwest of Penola at about 1.30pm.
The driver, a 69-year-old man from Adelaide, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mount Burr Rd was closed to traffic between Old Kalangadoo-Penola Road and Riddoch Highway while Major Crash officers examined the site, but has since reopened overnight.
The man’s death is the 80th life lost on South Australian roads so far this year.
