SAFM brekky radio host Emma G announces birth of baby boy Archie

An Adelaide breakfast radio host is rejoicing after becoming a mum, saying she loves the adorable bub’s “milk-drunk” smile.

Emma ‘G” Georgiadis might be on maternity leave but she’s already “back at work” – a week after giving birth to her “miraculous” baby boy Archie John Kleut.

Okay, so not back at work full-time but the new mum has been back on-air.

Emma G was a special guest on SAFM’s Bernie & Emma G breakfast show on Monday morning.

The brekky show is currently being presented by Emma G’s co-host Bernie Vince and Bel Sloane, who is filling in for her while she’s on mat leave.

Emma and her fiance Eddie Kleut welcomed Archie into the world on Monday, July 14.

“It’s just amazing. It’s the most incredible and most challenging thing I’ve ever experienced,” Emma G told Bernie and Bel, just after she had changed her seventh nappy ever.

“He’s one week old today, [I’m] so in love, he’s just so precious. I just keep staring at him all the time, soaking up. He’s got all these cute little sounds he makes and every little new expression, he does this gorgeous little smile when he’s milk drunk.”

In March, Emma G announced her pregnancy on-air.

“I’m 37, 38 next week, and we didn’t know when or if this would be possible for us so we’re just over the moon,” Emma G said, adding she felt for couples who were struggling with infertility: “It can be the hardest journey of your life, emotionally and physically. The amount of factors that need to align … is actually miraculous.”

Emma’s mat leave replacement Bel is married to Crows champ and former skipper Rory Sloane, one of Bernie’s old teammates.

“It’ll be a switch up for my mornings, going from dealing with three kids to just dealing with one big kid,” Bel said when she accepted the fill-in gig, adding: “The kids will miss me at home but Rory will just have to step up to the plate.”

SAFM’s Bernie & Emma G – Best Mates for Breakfast is currently in sixth spot in the radio ratings.

The show has been in that position for two surveys.

The next radio ratings results are due out Tuesday, July 22 but will not cover the period Bel has been on-air at SAFM.
