Tourist stabbed in Adelaide CBD attacked by knife-wielding gang-of-four

A 37-year-old man stabbed by a gang of attackers in Adelaide’s CBD has revealed the terrifying moment one of the group held a knife to his throat.

The victim of a violent CBD stabbing has been revealed as a tourist visiting Adelaide with his girlfriend, with the 37-year-old describing the terrifying moment he had a knife held to his throat.

Footage has emerged showing the man leaving his Airbnb on Franklin Street just before 2am and walking to his car to fetch a drone charger.

Later he is seen running down the same street, fleeing his attackers.

The tourist said while he was in his car, three men and a woman demanded money from him, attacking him while he hid inside his car.

“They suddenly just pulled their knives, everybody just got a knife and I tried to close the door, two of them tried to open it,” he said.

“They opened the door and stabbed me twice.

“And suddenly another guy just opened the driver’s side door and put his blade on my throat.

“I fell on the ground and just ran away.

“He tried to find my key but couldn’t find it, I realised the key is in my pocket.”

The victim was assisted by a member of the public, who called police.

The young man sustained several injuries during the struggle, including two stab wounds and several cuts across his hands, arms and legs.

He was taken to Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-serious injuries.

The young man was travelling through Adelaide from Sydney with his girlfriend, with the couple planning to fly to Uluru.

The four suspects were last seen heading west along Franklin St.

They are described as a woman, about 175 cm tall, with a solid build and long hair, and three men, one with a beard and another wearing a beanie or mask.

They are all of caucasian appearance.

Detectives and crime scene investigators attended and examined the crime scene overnight.
