Medstar rushes to scene of serious crash on Anzac Highway near busy Kurralta Park shopping centre

A horrific crash at Kurralta Park has left one person dead and another in a critical condition after a car collided with a tree.
Emergency services were called to Anzac Hwy near Grassmere St just before 1pm on Thursday after reports a Volkswagen Golf had crashed into a tree.
The 81-year-old driver from Plympton was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
His passenger, an 80-year-old Plympton woman, died at the scene.
Major Crash investigators continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Anzac Hwy remains closed to citybound traffic from Gray St.
