An interstate man has died after a truck and car collided on the Eyre Highway, near the Western Australian Border.
Police and emergency services were called to the highway on the Nullarbor, 75km from the border.
Emergency services received reports of a serious crash involving a truck and a car at 6am on Tuesday.
An 83-year-old man from Western Australia, who was driving a Holden utility, suffered critical injuries and sadly died on Tuesday afternoon.
His death is the 25th life lost on our state’s roads so far this year.
The 47-year-old truck driver and his 52-year-old passenger, both from WA, were not injured.
Major Crash Investigators flew to the scene from Adelaide to determine the circumstance that led up to the crash.
The Eyre Highway remains closed with police urging heavy vehicles to park up at the Nullarbor Roadhouse or at Border Village.
Motorists are advised to expect delays or restrictions throughout the area.
