From bottomless bubbles to family-friendly fixes, and hipster hangouts to breezy beachside spots – we’ve got your caffeine covered while you’re out brunching in Adelaide.
See our 25 top brunch picks to try in 2025.
1. My Grandma Ben
Plant 4, 5 Third St, Bowden
Visit Bowden’s much-loved Plant 4 for the sustainably-focused My Grandma Ben, which proves ethics don’t need to take a back seat to flavour.
Almost everything is made in-house, with an emphasis on maximising taste while minimising waste.
For brunch, that means a focus on sustainability – serving dishes laden with ingredients that are either in season or in oversupply.
From the no-waste menu to the upcycled furniture, this is one impressive – and ethical – eatery.
2. Mediterranean Cafe Ristorante
2/72 Broadway, Glenelg South
Some people visit Glenelg for the beach, others visit for Broadway.
The east-west strip is home to numerous cafes, a hotel and the famed Broadway Kiosk – but keeps its neighbourhood feel.
And the jewel in its crown is Mediterranean Cafe Ristorante.
Affectionately known as The Med to locals, it cuisine reflects as array of foodie cultures associated with, you guessed it, the Mediterranean region.
Our top menu pick is the acai bowls, add peanut butter for the win.
3. Verte Kitchen
240 Strathalbyn Rd, Mylor
Even if you don’t own a charming home in the Hills (yet), you sure feel like you do when you sit under a tree outside Mylor’s Verte Kitchen.
Set across from the town’s oval, it’s the perfect place to sit back, relax and enjoy life’s simple pleasures.
Which in this case are great coffee, a bustling atmosphere and exceptional food with a nod to French cooking (avec butter).
Run by a mother-daughter duo, the menu changes with the seasons – just like Mylor does.
Trust us when we say, it will be tres bien whenever you visit.
4. Seoul Sisters
84 Halifax St, Adelaide
For those seeking a spicy start to their day, Seoul Sisters on Halifax St is the perfect place to begin.
From healthy rice bowls to gochujang chicken, kimchi and coconut curry, the menu is filled with sumptuous Korean fare – including soju.
But don’t let the name fool you – classics like English muffins, ham and cheese croissants and smashed avo are also on the menu.
And for sweet tooths, the pastries make a perfect midmorning treat too.
5. Our Boy Roy
114 East Ave, Clarence Gardens
Breakfast gnocchi? It’s a vibe, and you can find it at Our Boy Roy in Clarence Gardens.
Or if you’re feeling less adventurous, enjoy a sleep in and get there after 10.30am when the menu expands to include huge sandos.
Classics like chicken schnitty and ploughmans are always on the menu, joined by a weekly special guaranteed to blow your mind and tastebuds away.
6. Lockwood General
35 High St, Burnside
When this reporter was a little girl this Burnside address was a butcher shop and a must visit for an after-school fritz ritual.
Times and (the reporter’s) tastes have changed since then and now Lockwood General is known for its coffee and bottomless brunch.
Available seven-days-a-week, this brunch is designed to be shared – and thoroughly enjoyed.
The bubbles, beer and cider are bottomless, too.
7. Fourth Hill Providore
34 Onkaparinga Valley Rd, Verdun
Set inside a renovated barn, Verdun’s Fourth Hill Providore is worth the drive based on aesthetics alone.
Huge windows and a fireplace inside, towering trees and rolling lawns outside.
So it’s an added bonus the only thing that surpasses the atmosphere is the food.
An all-day menu of breakfast and lunch staples with a Hills twist is available on weekends – along with a small but mighty selection of beer, wine and spirits.
So what are you waiting for? Head for the Hills.
8. FIX. Specialty Coffee
27 Torrens St, College Park
Every man and their dog (quite literally) should know about FIX. Specialty Coffee in College Park.
Nestled next to Linear Park, it’s simply the perfect spot to refuel after walking your furry friend. And owners Remo and Vicki know it.
They have a wall of Polaroids dedicated their cute customers.
But if you’ve graduated from being a dog-parent and are responsible for actual human babies it’s not a worry.
There’s also a cubby house out the back for little ones to play in while you get to your caffeine fix while it’s still hot. Trust us, it’s bliss.
9. White Picket Coffee House
10 Stuart Rd, Dulwich
Still on spots that keep the littleys happy, White Picket in Dulwich is an institution among eastern suburbs families needing an eggs benny fill.
And good news if it’s already going to be one of those days; White Picket is a licenced cafe serving a range of local and imported beer and wine. Because everything really is better with champagne.
10. Bloom
38 Winwood St, Thebarton
Bloom is an Adelaide institution with inside-outside dining and featuring a huge intior hearth, which isn’t just for show.
The entire menu has been designed with fire in mind.
Think fire-toasting, charring and burnt ingredients, even the Bloody Mary’s are made using smoked tomatoes.
And with the cafe set inside a former tram barn near the River Torrens, it’s an easy cycle to either the city or the sea to burn it all off after.
11. The Flying Fig
161 Jeffcott St, North Adelaide
Bringing a slice of The Big Apple to Adelaide is The Flying Fig.
Inspired by the famous NYC Jewish delicatessens, this North Adelaide cafe uses traditional cooking techniques – with a sophisticated edge.
Think bagels, classic Reubens, house-made pickles and 12-hour cold smoked salmon; the menu serves as a tribute to the rich mosaic of flavours that make up Jewish cuisine.
12. Star House Chinese Restaurant
1/31-39 Gouger St, Adelaide
Because brunch certainly isn’t all avocado toast, why not give the lazy Susan a spin at one of Adelaide’s best yum cha restaurants?
Star House is an institution in the heart of the city.
This authentic go-to serves one of SA’s most extensive Cantonese menus, which is guaranteed to keep the whole family happy.
With a seemingly endless parade of bite-sized snacks, it’s perfect for those who want to try a bit of everything.
13. The Middle Store
118 Winston Ave, Melrose Park
We’re halfway through the list and if you’re ready to branch out from bacon and egg rolls, The Middle Store has you covered.
Kofta burgers, zaatar man’oushe (Lebanese flatbread) and hummus bagels will immediately transport you from Melrose Park to the Middle East.
Bacon and eggs still more your thing? No worries, they do that too.
14. Joe’s Henley Beach
Esplanade, Henley Beach
Have you ever been drawn in by a restaurant’s sweet location only to be left feeling bitter over their food?
Fear not, because Joe’s Henley Beach is a masterclass in serving up both.
Its Instagram profile promises “beachfront dining at its very best” and I can personally confirm they deliver on all fronts.
15. Nauti Buoy
1 Henley Beach Rd, Henley Beach South
While we’re at the beach, float on down to Nauti Buoy – a breezy brunch spot bringing good coffee, Instagram-worthy sandos and gluten-free fare.
And given its owned by the founders of Hidley St’s Loverboy nightclub, it slings a mean cocktail too.
Stirring up the Adelaide bar scene, resident bartender Chris Wood has even been named best in the state.
But don’t let the name or location fool you – Nauti Buoy doesn't have to be a summer-specific spot.
A fireplace and seasonal menu brings a serious stormy winter vibe, too.
16. Kitchen Farm Pantry
162 Flaxley Rd, Mount Barker
Ever harboured trad wife fantasies of cooking food from scratch using vegetables grown in your own garden?
Put down the apron and head to Kitchen Farm Pantry instead.
Set on a sprawling 8ha of land in the Adelaide Hills, this farm project uses its own produce in its paddock-to-plate cafe.
Other local bites and sweet treats are also available at this calm, welcoming and family-friendly environment.
17. Pavé Cafe
138b The Parade, Norwood
The Parade in Norwood is arguably the spiritual homeland of Adelaide’s cafe culture and nowhere does it better than Pavé.
Its baked eggs are simply too good to show any restraint around and the mango smoothie is the perfect salve.
18. Yuna
7/34 Henley Beach Road, Mile End
12 TRENDSETTING EATERIES THAT OPENED IN 2024
Start your day with a umami bang at this unassuming Japanese-inspired cafe in the western suburbs.
Matcha lattes and shokupan bread are the vibe at Yuna Restaurant and Cafe.
Or why not try a traditional breakfast set with salted salmon, tamago, miso soup and house-made pickle?
Whatever you pick, make sure it’s not grab and go. You’ll want two hands and your full attention to enjoy this fare.
19. Mia Margarita
2/330 Seaview Rd, Henley Beach
Yes, this a brunch list. And yes, Mia Margarita does brunch and it does it well.
But where would the truth in journalism be if we didn’t admit it’s the bottomless jugs that are the real star of the show at the Henley hot spot?
Perfectly complementing their two-course Mexican menu, choose from an array of margaritas, including classic, spicy, passionfruit or watermelon, or indulge in mimosas or red and white sangria. Arriba.
20. Ambra Spirits
43 Phillips St, Thebarton
Margaritas not your thing? What about a limoncello spritz?
Made from a mix of limoncello, prosecco and zesty lemon soda, they are the hero of Ambra Spirits’ Sunday Sessions.
Over an hour-and-a-half, enjoy a five-course tasting menu along with all the limoncello you can drink.
There’s also a discounted non-alcoholic option for those wishing to sit the silly season out.
21. Bottega Bandito
1/96 Prospect Rd, Prospect
Prospect delicatessen extraordinaire has gained a cult following for its freshly made sandos crafted on iconic house-made sourdough.
But its brunch menu is a vibe of its own.
Think sausage, fried egg, bacon, provolone and house HP sauce on a milk bun; eggs your way with add ons all the way to a steak Diane with porcini fries.
22. Seven Grounds
Unit 1/28a Hawker St, Brompton
Home of Adelaide’s viral breakfast dumplings, this list wouldn’t be complete without Seven Grounds in Brompton.
The menu changes regularly, but you can be guaranteed it’s always super unique and fun.
Its iced latte and Viet coffee game will also keep all the girlies happy, with matcha and taro that will look even better on your feed than anything from Erewhon.
23. Sublime
55 East Ave, Clarence Park
Its website shamelessly promotes it as the “brunch of your dreams” and honestly, it seems accurate.
There’s no better way to bring in the day than with a two-hour share-style package of cafe favourites, followed by a breakky Pavlova with espresso mascarpone.
Wash it down with bubbles, Mimosas, peach bellinis, beers and coffee.
24. Pearl
Boat Ramp Aldinga Beach
Look, the brunch offering isn’t huge – but what’s that saying about quality?
Located at the Aldinga Beach Boat Ramp, Pearl’s beachside kiosk is open Saturday and Sunday from 9am and the breakfast sandwich is worth the drive.
Relax with a coffee, let your kids run wild on the lawns – or the beach which is well within view – and simply wonder why you didn’t try it sooner.
25. Seamore’s
255 Esplanade, Henley Beach
What better place to rise and shine than gazing out over the ocean? And Henley Beach’s Seamore’s is the ultimate summer hotspot.
Once known as Sandbar, this huge, 260-person capacity venue is broken down into plenty of cozy corners so it’s perfect for large groups – or for a romantic meal for two.
There’s even a dance floor.
Which might come in handy, depending on how much value you get from the bottomless cocktail jugs.
