The battle to recruit hospitality staff during the ongoing staff shortage crisis continues to intensify, forcing a glitzy Bondi restaurant to email its customer database to try to fill positions. 

The woman rejected for a New York trade position in favour of John Barilaro has told an inquiry she was informed the job would be “a present for someone” else when her job offer was revoked.
