A man who allegedly allowed Hells Angels bikies to use his Munno Para West home to store millions of dollars worth of meth has been granted bail to live in the same house.

Grant McDougall, 53, appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Thursday in front of Magistrate Justin Wickens charged with six counts of drug trafficking. He is yet to enter any pleas.

Mr Wickens acknowledged Mr McDougall’s proposed address was in a suitable condition, and allowed the father to be released from custody on home detention bail.

“Your Honour, the home detention report has returned and the address is suitable,” the prosecution said.

Last Monday, Mr McDougall applied for bail to return to his home, which police say was used by alleged senior Hells Angel Scott Michael Kristian Smith to store “items” including more than $105,000 worth of meth.

Mr McDougall was allegedly part of an operation that involved an alleged Outlaw Motorcycle Group member and prospect trafficking in large quantities of meth and cocaine.

Detectives allegedly watched Mr Smith attending Mr McDougall’s home to collect a backpack and later Mr Smith took part, with gang prospect Bradley Horlor, in the sale of 1kg of methamphetamine for $105,000 and were negotiating a sale of 250kg of meth with undercover officers.

He was arrested in May alongside Mr Smith, Mr Horlor and two other northern suburbs people after an investigation from October last year.

The court previously heard Mr Smith is facing 3 counts of drug trafficking while Mr Horlor is charged with 13 counts of drug trafficking.

On Wednesday, Mr Wickens warned Mr McDougall that home detention bail was a “bail of last resort”.

“If you don’t comply with it to the strict letter of the law, you’ll find yourself back in custody for the duration,” he said.

“I am told that they are giving out trial dates in the District Court for March 2026, and that’s a long time to be sitting there waiting for trial if you don’t comply with your bail. So, make sure you are.”

Mr McDougall will appear in court again next month.
