A teenager has faced court over a stabbing attack on a Campbelltown street that left a man bloodied.

Emergency services were called to Cedar Ave just after 6:30pm on Wednesday to reports of a violent disturbance on a street that residents have described as quiet and peaceful.

Attending crews found a man with stab injuries outside the home.

The victim, a 34-year-old man from Campbelltown, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Ashra Stuart, 18, of Windsor Gardens, was arrested at the scene. He lived in a granny flat at the rear of the property.

Mr Stuart was refused bail and and appeared in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later on Thursday charged with causing serious harm with intent.

He made no application for bail and was remanded in custody until December.

It is understood neighbours came out to the street when they heard a woman yelling for help. They then saw a man covered in blood standing in a neighbouring driveway.

Several residents in Cedar Ave have told The Advertiser that police were at the same property just days before the incident.

It’s understood the charged man is the son of the crying woman, but from a previous relationship.

Detectives remained at the home on Thursday and were seen searching the front yard.

A child’s white play chair in the front foyer of the house appears to have a bloody handprint.

On Thursday morning, the residents – who said they did not know the house occupants well – told The Advertiser that on hearing a woman’s screams for help and rushing to her aid they found her holding a baby girl.

They stayed with her while police and emergency services were called.

They told The Advertiser the 34-year-old man who was seriously injured in the incident “didn’t act like he had been stabbed”.

“He lifted up his shirt and there was just blood everywhere,” one said.

“He made it across the street and sat in the gutter, then we moved away when police were here.”

Blood stains could still be seen on the road and in the gutter on Thursday morning.

Neighbour Savi Kaur said her family was going upstairs to bed about 8pm and her child noticed the flashing lights.

“We came out and we got a bit scared at what happened because we saw the crime scene investigation bans as well,” she said.

“We only know there’s a couple and a toddler living there, it’s a pretty quiet neighbourhood, a quiet street.

“So it was scary.

“This is the first time I’ve seen anything.”

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the alleged assault but say the two men are known to each other, and this was not a random incident.
