Two new tourism accommodation cabins would have sweeping views of Adelaide – right from the privacy of your own luxury bathtub.

Proposed for a steep hillside of Mount Osmond, the one-bedroom cabins would be surrounded by native trees, plants and potentially wildlife.

The block is a long stretch of land with an existing building.

Plans show each identical cabin on the site would have a bath in the bedrooms, which have floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views straight from the bubbles.

The cabins include a small kitchen, dining and living area.

A patio forms part of the entry way, and parking is on top of the cabin, besides a rooftop garden, with a wire balustrade.

A concrete staircase leads down from the rooftop to the patio.

Lookadesign’s Hans Kaas said they had to deal with the slope of Mount Osmond during planning.

“We came up with this idea, we can either stick a monstrosity up in the air or alternatively, we decided, why not just park the car on top of cabin and create something different with a green roof?” he said.

“Then they go down to what’s basically a glass box that hangs off the side of a hill. And that’s where we started from.

“Then we looked at materials, at something to blend in to Mount Osmond. So it’s got to be concrete to hold the car’s weight, and something that will weather naturally.”

Public consultation closes March 19.
