Cruel act: Starved young dog found tied to a rail in Munno Para Park
A morning walker has found an emaciated young dog tied up and shivering in the rain in an Adelaide park. The RSPCA is now hunting the person responsible for the cruel act.

A starved young dog found tied up in the rain in Adelaide’s north has sparked an RSPCA probe to find the person responsible for the cruel act.
A local resident was on a morning walk at a Munno Para park about 5.45am Wednesday when he found the emaciated pup tied to a low rail near a the park at the corner of Light Avenue and Coventry Road.
The dog was under a tree, about 10m from a roundabout.
It was raining when the man found the shivering dog.
The man alerted RSPCA and took the dog home – alarmed by its emaciated condition.
The dog is a male, friendly, black and white Staffordshire bull terrier cross, estimated to be about nine months old.
He was wearing a distinctive black collar with a mickey mouse print on it.
The black leash also has a white mickey mouse print.
The dog is in care at the RSPCA’s Lonsdale shelter.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact the RSPCA on 1300 477 722.
Abandoning an animal is an offence under South Australia’s Animal Welfare Act and anyone found guilty can fact up to two years in prison.
