A heavily-tattooed senior Comanchero bikie will be flown to South Australia to face charges that he laundered more than $1 million tied to cannabis trafficking after raids in Lake Macquarie.

Kyle Shepherd, 34, was dramatically arrested by Raptor Squad police during raids at two Garden Suburb properties on Tuesday morning.

The raids were run by the South Australian serious and organised crime branch investigating drug trafficking.

A South Australian police spokesman confirmed Shepherd, who briefly faced extradition proceedings at Belmont, will face 29 counts of money laundering allegedly involving more than $1 million.

Detectives will allege the money laundering has been “tied to cannabis trafficking”.

The spokesman said “evidence” had been seized at the Garden Suburb addresses that were searched.

Shepherd, who is understood to be the sergeant-at-arms of the Comanchero Central Coast chapter, faced Belmont Local Court late on Tuesday afternoon to face the extradition application made by South Australian detectives.

Magistrate John Chicken granted the application and ordered Shepherd to be remanded in custody.

He will remain in the custody of South Australian detectives and has to face Adelaide Magistrates Court by Thursday.

“[South Australian police] continue to target those who facilitate and finance the illicit drug trade and seek to identify and seize the assets and profits gained from that illicit activity,” Det Supt Shane Addison, the officer in charge of the South Australian serious and organised crime branch, said in a statement.
