Police say a body discovered inside a car in Adelaide’s northwestern suburbs is not being treated as suspicious.

Officers were called to Wilson St at Mansfield Park on at about 12.50pm on Wednesday afternoon, after a person was found dead inside a vehicle.

Wilson St and part of Waller St were cordoned off while Western District detectives, Major Crime and Forensic Response officers examined the scene, door knocking several houses in other nearby streets.

Darren Fischermann, who has lived on Wilson St for 12 years, believed the car being examined by police had been parked on the street since about 8am Wednesday.

Major Crime officers are preparing a report for the Coroner.
