Major Crash investigators are appealing for witnesses to a crash in Adelaide’s CBD, after a woman died in hospital.

The Advertiser, 7NEWS Adelaide: Van crash arrest, Cripps' second Brownlow win

An elderly woman had died in hospital, after a car crash in Adelaide’s CBD last week.

Police were called to the intersection of South Tce and Sir Lewis Cohen Ave, just after 12.15pm on Friday September 20, after reports two cars had collided.

A 93-year-old woman was driving a Nissan Micra, when it crashed with a Ford Territory.

She was rushed to hospital for treatment but sadly died on Tuesday, September 24.

Her death is the 61st life lost on our state’s road this year.

The driver and passenger in the Ford were not injured, police said.

Major Crash investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the crash, or may have dashcam footage – and have not spoken to police – to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

It comes after Debbie Johnston, 59, of Davoren Park, was identified as the victim of Sunday’s fatal accident involving a disability transport vehicle in Hayborough.

Registered Adelaide-based provider Care Assure was on respite visit to the area when their Toyota van struck a tree at the intersection of Ocean Rd and Port Elliot Rd.

Company spokesman Doug Hicks said the disability service providers are doing “everything they can” to assist with the investigation, while stating the driver was qualified enough to be behind the wheel.
