Some of Sydney’s most eligible bachelorettes have descended on Europe this summer, armed with designer suitcases and two objectives: to trade Sydney’s winter for Mediterranean heat and to land themselves a handsome and successful gentleman.
And the fact some of these once-spoken-for women are travelling Europe made Confidential do some digging on the current status of their relationships.
We hear socialite Olivia Korner split from husband Michael Teplitsky a short while ago and that she is enjoying life as a single woman on the other side of the world.
As is Jacinta Constantine, who spent last year trotting around the globe with her now “ex”, billionaire Lawrence Escalante.
They are joined by a number of well-heeled single women – including socialites Emma Steel, Alina Barlow, Harriet Williams, Costeen Hatzi and Taryn Williams, designer Pip Edwards and hairdresser Mariah Rota – who are currently in Europe to enjoy the sights and potentially nab a man.
The most compelling story among these jetsetting hopefuls is Korner, who, sources tell us, left her husband, eastern suburbs property developer Teplitsky, following his financial collapse.
It was revealed in 2024 that Teplitsky had been ordered by the NSW Supreme Court to repay $11.15m plus seven years’ interest to liquidators, after the cash had been “washed” by blackmailers through his companies.
Korner looks to be embracing her independence.
Confidential spotted the socialite, who is heiress to the Madame Korner beauty empire, posing with prominent Sydney businessman Tony Shepherd.
Korner was married to Sydney property identity Ben Stewart for nine years but they split in 2009.
The mother of three then wed high-profile businessman Teplitsky in 2023, but that ended in tears not long after a court found he helped move hush money paid to keep Australia’s largest corporate tax fraud hidden.
Also living it up in Europe is Steel, who split from neurosurgeon husband Tim Steel in 2019.
She has been on the prowl and turning heads in several scantily clad designer outfits.
Sources say popular Sydney jeweller and billionaire heiress Barlow is also in Europe with her family, eight months after Confidential revealed she had split from husband Scott Barlow.
Harriet Williams is also in Europe – the same place her relationship with publicist Andy El Bayeh came to an end in 2024 following a two-year marriage.
Model Hatzi is enjoying everything Italy has to offer, four months after we revealed she had split from tennis star Nick Kyrgios.
And fashion designer Edwards, who split from boyfriend Joshua Clapp in March, is sunning herself in Italy.
It’s not just the women heading overseas for some heat. Single men are also fleeing Australia to chase a sizzling European summer.
Tech billionaire businessman and notorious ladies manEscalanteis living it up in Mykonos, alongside eight young women he’s reportedly hosting for the season. One would assume, then, that his relationship with young model Constantine is over.
Confidential revealed she was his European summer fling last year. Both have been deleted from each other’s social media sites.
Sydney celebs aren’t only heading to the other side of the world to hook up; some have become engaged and others have tied the knot.
Maude Tzaneros’s brother, triplet Paul Toohey, proposed to “it” girl Nadia Adelstein in Mykonos with a huge rock by jewellery designer Charlotte Heinrich.
“I designed it with Nadia’s fiance under my Heinrich Freeman business,” Heinrich told Confidential.
“He popped the question with his family and friends around. It was such an honour to be involved.”
Project director Andrew La Sala and Sydney barrister Chris Koikas also tied the knot in Italy.
As well, Tom Solomon and Sophie said their vows in France, while Skye Leckie’s nephew, George Playfair, and Georgie Tait made their love official in London
