Police have promised to continue searching for a missing Alice Springs woman Angie Fuller until she is found.

NT Police made a fresh appeal on Tuesday for information on the mother’s whereabouts, particularly during an 11-hour window.

“Police are urging motorists, who were travelling along the Tanami Road, between 10pm on January 9 and 9am the following day, to contact us,” Superintendent Rob Engels said.

“Anyone with information on Angie’s whereabouts is urged to contact police on 131 444 or via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

“Police will continue to search until Angie is found.”

Superintendent Engels said the air and ground search operation had increased over the past week.

It comes after a man claiming to be the boyfriend of Ms Fuller posted a bizarre video saying the pair was chased through the bush and shot at by a “gang”.

Miss Fuller was last seen on the evening of Monday January 9 near the Tanami Road, north of Alice Springs.

She was last seen wearing a black Nike singlet and a cream skirt and is described as a woman of Asian appearance, about 165cm tall, with a medium build, long black hair and purple streaks.

“We believe Ms Fuller is alive … there is certainly water sources in area that she can access,” Superintendent Engels said on Sunday afternoon.

“Our experts to date tell us that it is survivable at this time, so we hold out all hope.

“We believe that she and her boyfriend had run off into the bush, where she was last seen.

“We believe the last person to see Ms Fuller was her boyfriend on Monday evening when they’d run off into the bush as a result of some incident that’s occurred on that Tanami Highway.

“I believe his vehicle was searched while he was actually in the search area at the time.”

Acting Superintendent Engels said the circumstances of Ms Fuller’s disappearance remained under investigation.

He said the search was focused on the Tanami Road about 15km west of the Stuart Highway.

The Alice Springs man, who identified himself as a “sovereign man”, said he and his girlfriend fled into bushland, while dodging bullets from an unknown group of “blokes”.

“Me and my girlfriend got ran off the road and got shot at by a gang,” he claimed in a video.

“It just multiplied, more carloads were just rocking up … hectically.”

The man said after being bogged for 10 minutes he and Ms Fuller started running as the armed assailants started to attack.

He said he “tried his best” to keep an eye on his girlfriend but he “let her pass” and they were separated.

“And I heard her scream, and I ran towards the scream,” he said.

“I was like ‘f—k the gun, I’m coming for ya’ and I was running as fast as I could.

“The last thing I heard my missus say when she screamed that second time … and when I got to that spot I sussed it out and they were gone.

“I heard her one more time and she’s screaming out ‘Get the f—k away from me’.”

NT Police did not respond to questions about the videos or allegations of an armed ambush, but posted a renewed call for information.

The man said he recorded the video “for my own legal purposes” and said his statement was not being taken seriously by police.

“They’re not even acting upon this as they should,” he said.

“I’m not a f—king bad person. I get looked at like a badass, but it just comes with the Territory I suppose.”

He said he was able to survive as “Alice Springs initiated me — I take that with pride”.

“I had these c—ts all around me,” he said.

“I was like f—king too light on my feet.

“But while still trying to stay, you know, incognito — which I did.”

The man said when he rejoined the search for the missing 30-year-old woman his car was searched by a police officer.

In a video the man held up an unknown piece of green material about the size of a 50 cent coin and said to the camera that it was not his.

“I have never seen this in my life, and I swear that on the bible,” he said.

“That is not mine.”

The police officer told the man he was not trying to “give you a hard time”.

“The only reason I’ve searched your car is that we’ve got a missing person, you are in the area of the search,” the officer said.

“I’m just trying to figure out why you are here.”

The man said he had “every right” to be part of the search for Ms Fuller as her boyfriend.

In the videos the man identified himself as a “sovereign man”, generally used as a term to describe someone part of the sovereign citizen group who claim they are not subject to state or territory laws.

“I’m a sovereign man, I don’t come under the Commonwealth and I stated that and he knew that,” he said.

“I’m ready to go back and represent my sovereign rights, because I feel like something is not right with what’s happening.”
