A quadruple threat of Australian comedic talent is coming to Townsville for two nights of big laughs.

The Comedians, featuring well-known Aussie comics Marty Sheargold, Sam Pang, Mick Molloy and Lawrence Mooney, has been touring around Australia for the past 18 months and has added Townsville onto their list of stops.

With all four men having careers across radio, television, film and podcasts, the show is billed as a night of ‘good old fashioned stand-up’.

Comedian, radio presenter and TV personality Marty Sheargold, known for The Marty Sheargold show on Triple M and stints on Have You Been Paying Attention? on Channel 10, said this was the shows third lap around the country.

“This is the first time we are stopping in Townsville which is great,” he said.

“We’ve all known each other for the better part of twenty plus years so we get so excited when we come together and see each other because in our daily lives we each have so much going on,” he said.

“There’s a lot of diaries and trying to get the four of us in a room at the same time is sometimes impossible.”

Describing the touring adventures as like ‘school camp for adults’ Mr Sheargold said it’s always a lot of fun.

“Van trips are great, airport lounges are fun, there’s always a bit of room for carrying on and goofing around which is great,” he said.

Spruiking the show as a ‘package deal’ Sheargold described it as an indulgent banquet of comedy.

“It’s like four separate meals. It’s like a degustation, a comedy degustation,” he said.

‘As we always say, lock up your mums.”
