Police have established a crime scene after a body was found in a burnt-out car on a country road.

A body was reportedly found in a burnt out vehicle on Manumbar Road, north of Nanango, about 9.30am on Saturday.

Emergency services were called to the grim scene at Sandy Ridges about 9.30am on Saturday.

It is understood the fire had burnt out prior to their arrival.

The road was closed to traffic but has since reopened, with police saying the matter was not suspicious.

A Queensland Police Service spokesman said investigations were under way, but no other details were available.
