A man has died after being pulled unresponsive from a beach near Mackay Harbour

A man has been pulled from the water at a beach near Mackay Harbour.

Police are preparing a report for the coroner following the non suspicious death of a 69-year-old man near Mackay Harbour.

The man was pulled out of the water unresponsive near Mackay Harbour on Saturday afternoon.

The Queensland Ambulance Service was called to Edmond Casey drive about 4.22pm and found the man unconscious.

Multiple paramedics were working to save the man who was is in a critical condition at the time of the call out but he was unable to be saved.
