Laidley in mourning as Summah Richards, 12, is laid to rest after fatal e-scooter crash
A moving vigil and funeral have been held to mark the tragic loss of a much-loved 12-year-old girl who died when her e-scooter was hit by a car.

Family and friends have gathered to remember Summah Richards, a vibrant and adventurous girl whose life was tragically cut short.
The 12-year-old died after she was struck by a car on Vaux St, Laidley on April 19.
Family friend Dearne Sweeney organised a candlelight tribute for Summah at Gatton’s Apex Park on Sunday afternoon and said the young girl was loved by all.
“When any young life is lost it rocks the community,” she said.
“Summah was a very vibrant, adventurous soul, she lit up every room and her smile would stop anyone in their tracks.
“We just wanted to honour her memory.”
Close to 100 people attended the memorial, where they lit candles and shared memories.
“Summah was much loved among her peers, she loved gymnastics, her animals and her friends,” Ms Sweeney said.
“There is a lot of support for Summah’s family, but it is going to be a very long road for all involved.”
Summah was laid to rest on Tuesday.
The incident remains under investigation by the Queensland Police Service Forensic Crash Unit and anyone with information for police is urged to come forward.
