A mother of two has been slapped with a hefty fine for assaulting a security guard as they tried to remove her from a pub after a member of her group had a pokies win.
Kylie Lee Corcoran, 46, pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on July 21 two charges – failing to leave a licensed premises and common assault.
Police prosecutor Kathryn Walker said Corcoran was in the pokies area of Berserker Tavern on July 13, 2025, with two others when the group was asked to leave due to their disorderly behaviour.
She said CCTV footage showed staff primarily spoke with Corcoran who argued with them before a physical altercation broke out.
Ms Walker said staff took Corcoran’s drink from her and tried to usher her to the exit, but she physically resisted.
Ms Walker said Corcoran hit one of the security guards in the face with her bag or her hand.
Defence lawyer Oscar Millroy said the group gained attention after one of them had a big win and the group expressed their excitement.
He said Corcoran now acknowledges security has the right to physically remove patrons.
He also said his client was undertaking a two-year trip around the country with her husband and nine-year-old child and she had another 19-year-old child.
Corcoran was fined $1000 total and no convictions were recorded.
