Teen dies in 4WD rollover on Mornington Island

A 19-year-old has died following a rollover involving a four-wheel-drive on a remote Queensland island.

The 19-year-old Wellesley Islands man was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

Police say the 19-year-old was an occupant of the vehicle that was being driven on Birra Road on Mornington Island when the vehicle rolled.

A second 19-year-old, a Gununa man, was taken to Mornington Island Hospital with minor injuries.
