Strawberry recall: Child’s false claim over needle in strawberry
A BRISBANE school student has been found to have made a false claim about biting into a strawberry containing a needle and subsequently sustaining an injury.

The Courier-Mail has been told that a child made a false claim about being injured by a needle in a strawberry.
Police had been contacted about the incident before it was proven to be a false claim.
“Police have ruled out reports of a strawberry contamination incident at a school on the southside of Brisbane today,” Queensland police said in a statement.
“Urgent inquiries conducted into the allegation determined a false report had been made. We are confident no products have been contaminated in this instance.”
