Robert Irwin has proven that no Australian is immune to unwanted slippery house guests, with the Wildlife Warrior forced to dig a snake out of his work boots earlier this week.
In a video uploaded to TikTok on Friday, Irwin, 21, joked that he wanted to find presents in his stocking this Christmas but ended up with a snake in his boot instead.
“Tell me you live in Australia without telling me you live in Australia,” he said.
“Have a look at this shoe rack. What’s the plan here mate, what are you doing? Those are mine.”
Unfazed by the interaction with Aussie reptile royalty, the snake slithered into one of Irwin’s boots.
“What are you doing, get out of my shoe. Now I’m going to have to fish this guy out of my shoe, I don’t know how I’m going to do this,” he said.
After setting his phone down to film the rescue, Irwin reached into his boot and slowly pulled the snake out the tight spot it found itself in.
“What are you doing on a shoe rack? You don’t even have any feet,” Irwin said before walking off with the snake.
Reaching an audience of more than 1.5 million users on TikTok, many international viewers admitted they now feel apprehensive about visiting Australia after Irwin’s close encounter of the slippery kind.
“How do people even get out of bed in Australia. I’d be too scared,” one person commented.
“Nope. Nope. Nope. I’ll keep the freezing cold Canadian winters, thank you,” a second added.
