Queensland model and former Channel 7 roving reporter Rachael Finch has spoken out about her two-year struggle with her breast implants, revealing she will be undergoing surgery to remove them today.
Taking to social media on Friday morning, the former Miss Universe Australia winner from Townsville said she was “excited and … also shaking with fear” in the lead up to the surgery, which follows the revelation one of the implants has been ruptured for some time.
“2 years ago I woke up and noticed one was a little different to the other. I immediately went in for an MRI which the doctor told me I had a capsular contracture in my left breast,” Ms Finch shared with her Instagram followers.
“I started getting pain in my left breast which became bad and other symptoms – I’ve been in and out of clinics for months, until last week I was told my left implant was in fact ruptured,”
Having had the implants since she was 17, Finch described them as being “a part of (her) for pretty much all (her) adult life, but implored her followers to “listen to your instincts” whenever it comes to your body and to trust yourself if you feel “something is not right”
“We won’t know until after the operation just how much damage has been done. I will wake up a few hours from now in a world of pain, with small/no boobies, unable to hold my children, but a weight off my chest like no other,” she said.
“Please, if you ever feel something is not right with your body, listen to your instinct, and don’t stop searching.”
