Queensland Fire Department crews and Toowoomba Regional Council staff are working to contain a fire burning on the Toowoomba Escarpment.
A QFD spokesman said the fire started as a controlled, hazard reduction burn that got away from the landowner, shortly after 12pm on Wednesday.
It is burning in a hard-to-reach section of the Toowoomba Range, off Tabletop Drive.
Six QFD crews are on scene, supported by a TRC staff on a thrasher.
They are working to cut a fire break.
There is no immediate threat to property.
Instead the fire is described as “slow-moving” and travelling west, up the escarpment.
