Voters have been turned away from polling booths statewide after internet complications caused printers to shutdown.

Voters are being turned away from polling booths after internet complications caused printers to shutdown.

Ballot paper printers have been unable to connect to the internet causing delays and stopping absentee voters from cast their vote.

Absentee voters are being advised to write down their details with an ECQ volunteer inside, and head to their local electorate.

An ECQ volunteer said he had never experienced this issue before.

An ECQ spokesperson confirmed the issue had only affected one polling booth in Cooper.

The technical issue caused printing issues, forcing EVQ volunteer to turn absentee voters away from a polling booth at St Finbarr’s primary school.

“As a precaution we are checking with our digital technology department to ensure they are already in correspondence with the Cooper electorate to ensure this is in hand,” the spokesperson said.

The issue has since been resolved, with absentee voters now able to cast their vote.
